Francis Kuehnle RN-BC, MSN

Francis Kuehnle is a lecturer at the College of Nursing in the undergraduate pre-licensure program.

Francis completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Iowa in 2010. They received their Masters of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Education from Mount Mercy University in 2014. They have been a Staff Nurse at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on the Neuropsychiatric Unit since 2010. Francis holds a certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from the ANCC. They are also a member of the American Psychiatric Nursing Association and Sigma Theta Tau – Gamma Chapter.

Francis’ main areas of interest include violence management in psychiatric settings, compassionate care of patients with schizophrenia, and LGBTQIA+ mental health needs
